- Families (No age restriction for children who participate in family counseling)
In my practice, I focus on the following needs:
Crisis counseling and stress management for children and adults
I use a blend of solution-focused, cognitive-behavioral and mindfulness approaches to help you set your own goals and identify the personal strengths that will help you meet those goals.
Parents raising challenging children
My work with parents and their children is active and participatory. Parents play a role in the therapeutic process to support the emotional, social and behavioral growth of their child. In our work together, you will learn:
- effective discipline techniques
- active listening skills
- anger control for child and parent
- age-appropriate developmental expectations with special considerations for children with special needs
- parent self-care
Blended families and parents raising step-children
Blended families face unique challenges as children and adults work to manage family loyalties, discipline and new households. I provide solution-focused therapy to help families identify strategies that meet the needs of all family members while building relationships, trust and competency in creating a new family.
Children and adults with depression, anxiety, social problems, learning & developmental disabilities, including those with Aspergers Syndrome
I will help you develop a deeper self-awareness of emotions and behaviors that hold you back from a more satisfying life and more meaningful relationships with others. You will learn to identify your strengths and find effective solutions.
Children and adults with a history of sexual abuse
I provide a safe, sensitive and confidential environment to work with you through this unique issue, so that you can move beyond your abuse history.
Mindfulness-based breathing and meditation techniques to treat anxiety, depression, panic, anger, sleep and stress management.
